BDL Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a learning technologies business based in Yorkshire in order to hire a Business Development Manager to join their team. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Generate and wins new business opportunities
  • Self – source and develop opportunities
  • Follow up inbound leads effectively and efficiently
  • Manage pipeline, accurately judging likelihood of conversation
  • Capture and understand a potential client’s requirements and learning objectives
  • Provide a consultancy driven service to recommend solutions to meet organisational/market learning challenges
  • Lead competitive presentations and pitches across all products and services
  • Bring digital learning solutions to life through authoring proposals
  • Independently manage relationships, building a portfolio of contacts
  • Have conversations with customers / partners on their full L&D strategy, spotting future opportunities
  • Implement tailored nurturing plans per account
  • Cross sell and up sell additional products effectively
  • Have a detailed understanding of the services, products and packages delivered to customers
  • Confidently translate technical information relating to eLearning, systems and content creation theory to customers and prospects in a language they understand
  • Lead the thinking to develop learning technology solutions and concepts for clients and prospects

About you

  • Experience of scoping, pitching, winning and delivering strategic digital learning /transformation programmes
  • Experience and / or keen interest and knowledge of learning, L&D, Education & Training, digital learning approaches and tech, business transformation programmes
  • Experience of working with a range of Public and Private sector organisations and an understanding of current sector / business challenges
  • Ability to develop long term relationships
  • Familiar with a Key Account Management approach and can demonstrate delivering growth and new business through this as part of a long-term relationship management plan
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and taking accountability for delivering annual revenue
  • Collaborative approach – able to engage internal and external stakeholders and work with and through teams to achieve the best results for the client
  • Lead by example and work proactively and collaboratively with the wider sales team and business
  • Experience in an e-learning or training environment
